The United Nations Human Rights council has recently passed a resolution on Human Rights violations based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The resolution was passed by a vote of 23 in favour, 19 against and 3 abstentions. It is no surprise that some of the countries that voted against include some with the worst records of human rights violations in general and more specifically some with the worst records of discrimination against homosexuals, the likes of Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Russia and others.
