India: 3 cops suspended for leaving Mauritius president stranded
Three Haryana police officials, including an inspector, were suspended on Saturday for lapses in the security of Mauritius president Anerood Jugnauth and his wife Sarojini Jugnauth on their visit to Rohtak. They were in the town on Friday to attend a function along with Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Jhajjar SSP Saurabh Singh said three cops, including inspector Rakesh Kumar, an ASI and the driver of the pilot vehicle, have been suspended. ''Bahadurgarh DSP Mahavir Singh will conduct an inquiry. Action will be taken for the lapse,'' the SSP said.
