Aishwarya Rai honorée par la France

La célèbre actrice de Bollywood, ex Miss Monde, égérie de l'Oréal, et surtout représentante du cinéma indien dans le monde entier, Aishwarya Rai, va recevoir la médaille de Chevalier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la part de l'ambassadeur français à New Delhi aujourd'hui 13 juillet, a-t-on appris de l'Ambassade de France.
Selon un communiqué de presse de l'Ambassade de France, cette distinction résulte de "sa contribution au monde du cinéma et au développement de la coopération franco-indienne dans le cinéma". La même source précise qu'Aishwarya Rai recevra sa distinction des mains de l'ambassadeur Jérôme Bonnafont en personne et en présence de toute la famille de l'actrice.
Vraie star du cinéma bollywoodien, Aishwarya Rai a également brillé à l'international en jouant dans des productions britanniques et américaines telles que "Coup de Foudre à Bollywood","La dernière légion" ou encore "La Panthère Rose 2".
Elue Miss Monde en 1994, elle a été également la première actrice indienne à faire partie du jury de festival de Cannes en 2003.
