Nous sommes bien à Rodrigues en 2011. Une intervention chirugicale urgente et vitale avait été prévue à l'hôpital de Crève Coeur. Tout le personnel des différentes sections associées à une opération étaient mobilisées. Toute cette mobilisation implique de l'argent et l'argent des contribuables. Outre l'investissement des contribuables, il y a aussi le malade lui-même et la famille.
Il était citoyen de cette République de Maurice. Il ne méritait pas un tel service. Et ce fameux « attendant », est-ce qu'il sait ce que cela veut dire ? A-t-il une conscience professionnelle ? Est-ce qu'il sait qu'il est un maillon de la chaîne de traitement du patient ? Pourquoi est-ce qu'il se permet de ne pas être disponible ? Serait-il un protégé politique avec la croyance que « nou parti au pouvoir, nou fer ceki nou envi » ? Est-ce qu'il sait qu'il a fait du tort à toute une famille et qu'il a gaspillé l'argent du gouvernement ?
Le cas du patient attristé, accablé et découragé n'est qu'un parmi tant d'autres cas de souffrance qu'on rencontre souvent. N'oublions pas ces opérations renvoyées parce que les blouses stérilisées pour tout le personnel durant l'opération ne sont pas disponibles.
Que fait le Service de la Santé dans toute cette souffrance des patients ? La politicienne responsable de la santé s'intéresse-t-elle à ce Service de la Santé ? Monsieur Tom Pouce (nom fictif) disait souvent : « Heureusement zot pe jouer zot sega final. Heureusement elections pres pou arriver... Nou fine débordé ! »
