The recognition of one’s true identity is not negotiable. In his speech on Ash Wednesday (22 February 2012), the Mauritian Archbishop Maurice Piat joins electoral reformer and dreamer Rama Sithanen in a clear attempt to destroy any non-Christian identity rather than pleading for the recognition of a Christian identity in the Mauritian Constitution, and tries the old « mauricianisme qui sommeille en chacun d’entre nous » trick that the Catholic Church and others have tried for decades to push down our throats just like the creolisation of the nation.
