La mobilisation des jeunes mauriciens contre la corruption, le communalisme, le manque de transparence et une société inégalitaire, a suscité débats, analyses et généralement un certain malaise ou une peur bleue parmi certains politiciens, observateurs et la masse de la population. Alors qu’on doit saluer ces observations et ces analyses, aussi neutres, concis et pertinentes qu’elles soient, on ne doit aussi pas se borner à discréditer cette vague de changement qui souffle a travers l’île. Car, ce faisant, nous rendormons cet esprit d’unité et de bonne volonté qui nait parmi nos jeunes.

Something about the way the world has been rejoicing at the death of Osama Bin Laden strikes me as being very disturbing. Does this demonstrate humanity, does this even show how low we can stoop, if we are celebrating the death of a fellow human being with such gusto and joy?...
