I come from a culture which celebrates life and in which life includes death, from one's birth to one's demise. This is the ultimate truth. But in between we should not forgo our right to be happy and to celebrate....

Is there a better way to mark the year of the forest and the decade of biodiversity than proclaiming Bras D'Eau as the second national park of the country? Last week the Prime Minister inaugurated the park. He revealed that he had stopped a housing project in the area to preserve the environment of Bras D'Eau....

The Editor-in-Chief of Le Matinal, Kiran Ramsahaye, in his last Friday editorial said that the challenge facing government is not managing political crisis but managing adequate drinking water supply to prevent water riots. In the face of persistent drought, drying underground and overground reservoirs and rivers, I feel neither the authorities nor the population is fully aware of the danger we are in. Nor are we taking steps to address fully the real issues....
